NativeBloom Design Rooted in Place
NativeBloom is CREAR’s dedicated native-plant design studio. We established NativeBloom to help people live within landscapes that express the true essence of place. and which positively contribute to the region's ecology. NativeBloom gardens create an authentic, local space shaped by climate and the living systems native to Southern California.
Whether renewing an existing garden or reimagining an entire site, NativeBloom designs with native plants and ecological practices that support long term health and resilience. Each project begins with careful observation and a clear understanding of how land, water, and vegetation interact over time. By working with species adapted to regional conditions, we create landscapes that typically use significantly less water and perform reliably in drought.
Through work across a range of project types, we have identified what makes landscapes feel immersive and meaningful. The most successful gardens express the history and natural structure of their site. They feel grounded, legible, and alive. NativeBloom brings this site driven approach into focused, accessible design work rooted in Southern California.
Native plants offer more than beauty. When planted with intention and appropriate density, native landscapes develop into resilient systems over time. As these gardens mature, typically over one to two years, they require less ongoing maintenance than conventional landscapes while supporting a wide range of native species. Bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife often return early in this process, responding instinctively to plants they recognize. Even small urban gardens can begin to function as meaningful habitat.
Living among native plants also changes how people feel. Clients often describe a greater sense of calm, well being, and connection to their surroundings. Each garden becomes part of something larger. A growing network of habitat friendly spaces that link together, strengthen ecological corridors, and support regional biodiversity. One garden supports the next, creating collective impact across neighborhoods.
NativeBloom invites you to experience a more meaningful way of living outdoors. One that restores local ecology, conserves water, reduces long term maintenance, and deepens your connection to Southern California. Bringing the vitality of nature directly into daily life.
