This residence is located in beautiful Del Mar, California, an upscale coastal village. The site consist of two main areas - the flat area where the house rests and the steep hillside and back yard.  The clients wanted CREAR to design​ studio to design the back, side and front garden taking in consideration the followings: existing vegetation, incorporate drought tolerant plants, give a solution to the steep slope, incorporate flower-less vegetation and to add lush-like vegetation on the south side of the house to cover the existing decaying wooden fence. The first step in the  design process  was to study the existing vegetation, sun trajectory, functionality of the existing  spaces together with the client's needs. Second step was to create a conceptual plan that harmonically connected the existing conditions with the proposed ideas into a well balanced concept plan.
